Distribution trends

Neilsen-Netratings measurements show that about 11% of blog readers use either downloadable software or a web site based RSS aggregator to monitor blog feeds. After being exposed to RSS aggregators at SXSW last March, I researched the choices and chose to go with Bloglines for my feed reader. After several months of use, I can say that RSS is beginning to change my media consumption habits.

On another distribution front, Leichtman Research reports that 8% of all US Households have a DVR now. 22% of Time Warner Cable Digital Cable customers now have a DVR and 14% of Direct TV subscribers use either TIVO DVR service or the new Direct TV branded DVR service.
